Our Design Process

We want to give you our full attention and therefore ask you make an appointment before visiting us.

At our first consultation, we can discuss your wishes for your project, both in terms of aesthetics and practicality.  This will also be a good opportunity for us to show you what we offer at the Mill for perhaps some inspiration and ideas.

We will need to see the layout of your space. Whether it is architectural plans or hand-drawn, it is helpful to have dimensions and an idea of your project space.

We will also want to discuss a rough budget with you at this stage.

Following on from the first consultation, we may go ahead and design your space using information and drawings you have provided but in most cases it is helpful for your designer to arrange to visit you on-site, where possible, to get a better understanding of the space and your requirements.

Your designer will then put together some 3D and 2D designs along with cost quotation and invite you back to the showroom to present these to you.

If there are any changes needed, we can discuss these at this meeting and make the necessary amendments.

Once the design has been agreed, we will move onto the second phase of project planning starting with a sight survey by one of our project managers.

For kitchens, our entire design process is free of charge. However, if you would like to take your kitchen drawings away with you, we do charge a fee of £350 plus VAT which is redeemable against the cost of your project.  We may also ask for a commitment from you if there are many amendments or the design is changed completely after the initial brief.

For bathroom design, the first bathroom is free of charge and includes two amendments on the CAD design.  Subsequent amendments will be charged at £50 plus VAT.  We understand many of our clients will have more than one bathroom to design, in this instance, we will design each bathroom free of charge, as above.  A commitment and sign off will be required for each bathroom before moving onto subsequent bathrooms free of charge.

A fee £150 plus VAT is charged if you wish take your bathroom drawings away which is redeemable against the cost of your project.
